The water heater is surely one of the most enjoyable inventions that modern technology has yielded to the human race. There is nothing more comfortable than a hot bath or shower on a cold morning in order to wake the sleepy mind & body. Not only is it enjoyable, but it also helps out a lot with removing excess dirt and oil. And it is this comfort that people want to make sure they are let in on and will certainly spend lots of money so they can have it.

Going with the right boiler

For those that are in need for such services there are some boiler installation tips below they will need to keep in mind when requesting them. Before installing a water heater, the right one must first be chosen. There are two types and they number the gas fuelled water heaters and the electrical heaters. For those that want to save money going with a gas fuelled water heater can be a better option, but this is something that generally varies by area, so it's better that the ratings on the heater to be installed be checked beforehand. There are also cases when the homes people live in don't have a gas service so the only option is to go with the electrical one.

Checking the plumbing

The plumbing must be checked and the dimensions of the existent water pipes in the houses have to be taken in order to make sure that the heater will fit. Some houses might be too old for this, so to make the pipes fit properly some couplers might be needed. It is recommended that before any action is taken, that the utilities attached to the unit, be it an electrical or gas type, be turned off. Once this step is completed, the hot water tank can be drained and the old cold and hot water pipe connections can be disconnected. For the water in the tank to be drained, a hose is required that will be hooked up to the outlet at the bottom of the tank. The water can either be directly drained into a drain or outside.

Draining the old unit and removing it

Once the old unit will have been drained completely and also disconnected, it can be safely removed in order to leave way for the new one to be installed. The new unit will need fittings like the temperature & pressure relief valve in the case they are not installed. After this step, the water lines will have to be connected according to the installation procedures, so that there will be no leaks when the new tank gets filled.

Now, the power source needs to be connected (gas or electric). If the water heater installation fuel source is a gas line, a flue vent will need to be installed so that the fumes are safely directed outside the house. Only when all the connections have been properly made, the water tank can be filled with cold water and then the unit be turned on.

It's recommended that the water heater tank be insulated using water heater tank blanket. This will help keeping the water hot for a longer period of time and of course, will reduce the monthly costs for operating the water heater tank. Even though some people may have skills for installing such a unit, it's always best to contact a professional to handle the job so that no dead ends or even accidents have any chances of happening.
